Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
My dear friend Rita shamed me into finally reading Fourth Wing. She told me to “stop being a literary snob.” And she was right!
ICYMI, Fourth Wing has been credited with creating the “romantasy” craze. It is a big book that goes down easy, taking place in the fantasy world of a war college for dragon riders.
TBH, I could take or leave the dragons but I’m always down for a slow burn romance with a brooding, dark hottie hero And, it’s as much spicier than I anticipated (Maybe that’s why everyone loves it?)
I wasn’t sure I was going to read the second book, but then that CLIFFHANGER at the end sucked me in — à la The Summer I Turned Pretty.
(Sidebar: am I the only one who has watched the Season 3 trailer multiple times?)
I did hybrid regular book/audiobook, and while the audiobook was slow going until I got the weird names and locations down, I preferred the audiobook in the end.
This book is for you if:
You loved the Hunger Games series.
You’re still thinking about Edward Cullen (IYKYK)
You aren’t afraid of a little sexual tension, with lines like “I am annoyingly aware of everything you do.”
